". . . No matter how many times you have read the Word, myBible will make it seem fresh and new." -- Shawna M.

A NOTE FROM JULIA

"My name may be on the byline, but myBible: Standing on the Promises is the Word of God. God gave the inspiration for this project and I put in the time to get it done. It was certainly a team effort and would not exist without the God-given idea and continual encouragement by the Holy Spirit to keep going."
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Julia August grew up in Bethany, Oklahoma and graduated from high school there. Her award-winning writing was published for the first time when she was a teenager.

She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at seventeen and sensed a tug in her heart to serve the Lord through the abilities He had planted in her. She married after high school and studied broadcasting and advertising for a short time in college before she started a new career as a Mom.

After years of enduring a rocky marriage, she and her husband divorced. Staring in the face of self-doubt and a lack of know-how, she began writing greeting cards in her twenties, submitting them to a major Christian distributor. She was relieved to find purchase contracts in her mailbox instead of rejection letters and sold several ideas to the well-known card company in the years that followed.

Raising her son alone proved to be a full-time task and she spent most of her time working to make sure those needs were met. Out of necessity, she built a construction cleaning company with a partner and today they have established a reputation for being the best in the state. Their website welcomes thousands of visitors every year who are looking to do the same thing.

Julia became a foster parent in 2004 and works with therapeutic foster children. "If I can affect or change one life . . . if I can change one eternity or convince a hurting child how much God cares for them, it's all worthwhile. I may not be able to go to China, but I can affect a life right here in my own backyard."

Even with her busy work schedule and raising a houseful of boys, Julia has been a devoted member of New Beginnings Family Church in Mustang, Oklahoma since 1993. "I believe the Lord has a purpose and special mission for every person in the Kingdom. You've got to get in there and find out what it is and then go for it. Serve Him with every ounce of who you are!"

She is responsible for the audio/visual department and handles tasks ranging from video presentations to radio broadcasts to website development. She also takes care of the design and creation of the ministry's publications. Julia has played the drums for the worship team since 1995.

She also does freelance writing for BRIO Magazine, a Focus on the Family publication that reaches more than 200,000 teen girls.  "The Lord used several Christian women throughout my teen years to show me the way to go. They were a constant source of encouragement even when I didn't know I needed it. I hope throughout my own life I can be that person for someone else and writing for teen girls definately gives me the opportunity to do that."

Never Give Up
Julia has lived her life against the odds. She believes God thrives and flourishes the most in impossible situations and is only limited by what you will allow Him to do for you and through you.

"God can take you from the most impossible places and get you where He wants you and needs you to be. You've got the goods--He gave them to you. When you walk with Him, following the quiet leading of the Holy Spirit, you're going to get there. He gave you an impossible mission. One that He can't accomplish without you and one you can't accomplish without Him--but together the amazing can be done."
